Curiously Green Bananas

King Kong Ain’t Got Nothin’ On These!

When I purchase bananas, I always pick the batch that is green, just to give it time to ripen. In the past, every time that I have purchased yellow bananas, I never seem to be able to eat them in time before they rot. Any of you feel the same way? To me, bananas are like pasta…you feel like you’ve eaten a ton, but when you look at what’s left, it looks like you haven’t touched it! So that’s why I buy them green.

Well, I bought this last batch 3 days ago. As usual, the batch was a bright green, and I thought by now that they would start to ripen and change color. To my surprise, they are still very, very green…almost a scary green. I think that they are almost radioactive green. The picture above is as of today, which is 3 days after I bought them. The pic doesn’t do the bananas justice. They almost glow in the dark…I’m scared to eat them.

Do you know what this color green reminds me of? Take a look below…

These aren’t ‘organic’, so you can just imagine the level of pesticides that are inhabiting this batch. So I’m gonna wait a couple more days to see if they ripen. It’ll be interesting to see how long they stay green…
