Who would have thought it would come to this?

Coolio, at 45, is still rockin’ stages in Europe. Good for him. But not so good when he decided to stage dive into the crowd at a recent concert at Staffordshire University in Stoke-on-Trent, England.

Apparently, the crowd mistook Coolio for a chupacabra and ran for cover as he flew from the stage. Coolio hit the ground, and while down, was robbed of his shoes, bandana, and jewelry.

I don’t know what the main curriculum at Stafforshire University is, but I’m sure that “Jacking 101” is a required course. Or maybe they just decided to channel Robin Hood and steal from the rich. Somewhere in Sherwood Forest, there is a really stylish fox wearing Coolio’s Nikes.

Whatever the case is, we learned a few lessons from this incident:

1. No 45 year old man should attempt to stage dive.
2. Coolio’s security sucks.
3. People still watch Coolio perform?
4. Students in England believe in the chupacabra.
5. Coolio should stick to cooking.

Chris Brown and Rihanna represent of the power couples of the hip hop/r&b world. So you can imagine how distrubing it was to hear that Chris Brown is “rumored” to have assaulted Rihanna the night before the Grammys.

Ok, so here’s how the whole scenario went down, according to Billy Johnson, Jr over at Yahoo.

“According to the reports from the most reputable news sources, Brown turned himself in to authorities Sunday evening in connection with a charge of making a criminal threat. After being interviewed by police, he was released on a $50,000 bond.

The couple was last seen together Saturday night when they attended the annual pre-Grammy party hosted by music veteran Clive Davis. Reports indicate that they were happy.”

Now, I can’t say whether or not this is true.

But what I can say is that no matter what happens, Chris Brown’s once squeeky-clean image now has a black mark on it. Getting into trouble with the law is one thing, but being accused of beating down a female? That’s a whole ‘nother story (see Ike Turner).

There are some things a man never should do.

1. Physically assault a woman
2. Wear skinny jeans.
3. Wear skinny jeans and stuff your iPhone in your front pocket.
4. Eat Pinkberry with other guys
5. Write an email to another guy and use :\ (just kidding, it’s ok to use these )

But Chris Brown is innocent until proven guilty. I really want to believe that he isn’t guilty of the accusations set against him.

Without him, no one will ever chew Doublemint gum.

Miley Cyrus in the news. Racy photos. We’ve heard it before.

But this time it’s not “professional” topless pictures of the 16-year old Disney queen (Is that even legal?) Instead, a photo has surfaced with Cyrus and friends apparently making the oh so original stereotypical “slant eye” gesture.

Cyrus has denied the intent of the picture saying, “In NO way was I making fun of any ethnicity! I was simply making a goofy face. When did that become newsworthy? It seems someone is trying to make something out of nothing to me.”

She went on to say, “Well, (I’m) sorry if those people looked at those pics and took them wrong and out of context!”

Ah, the famous words…”those people.” I suppose the picture could have been taken out of context when you were just acting goofy. Who knows, maybe the flash was really bright and they all had to squint? Gotta love Angry Asian Man’s rant on this picture. (BTW, keep up the good work over there brotha man)

Being Asian American, I took a look at the picture to see what the fuss was all about. I saw the photo, and I believe that Cyrus meant no harm. It’s not her fault, her dad IS Billy Ray Cyrus.

But taking another look at the photo, I was actually surprised that anyone could think this photo was in any way a reference to Asians. Not everyone will feel the same, so in Cyrus’ defense, I took the liberty of pointing out some things that clearly show no reason for anyone to associate this picture with anything Asian. (except for the Asian guy, which I’ll get to later)

Here’s the famous picture, with my observations. (see below for my notes)

1. It’s pretty obvious that this guy is not making fun of Asians. He’s stretching his eyes downward, not upward, which means he’s actually a Star Trek fan trying to look like Spock. Got give it up to a guy confident enough to come out of the “geek closet” and out himself as a Trekkie. (But come on, a real Trekkie would bust out the Vulcan greeting)

2. Same guy. He’s wearing a cross. We all know that the majority of Asians are Buddhist and don’t wear crosses. So, he can’t be making fun of Asians. I think this guy is just really confused. Come on, he’s wearing dogtags. I bet they say something like “Starfleet Commander” (see #1)

3. The famous Peace sign. Yes, Asians do use the Peace sign in photos, but this guy is doing the “bunny ears.” So this guy is definitely not making reference to Asians. Asians don’t do “bunny ears.”

If Asians do anything “animal-related” in photos, we’re usually hugging our Hello Kitty dolls.

And the hand-on-mouth gesture? Again, yes, Asians are famous for that (it’s a cultural thing). But by the look on his face (and on the girl’s next to him), he’s probably dealing with a little “backfire” from the girl’s “tailpipe.” (he must know about this tip to lower everyone’s blood pressure)

4. This guy is definitely not making fun of Asians. It’s painfully obvious that he has an infatuation with Robert Pattinson (of Twilight fame) and is trying to do his best impression. But he just ends up looking like a broke-ass Josh Groban instead.

5. Where do I start? First of all, I have some questions.

Dude, you’re obviously over 18 years old so why do you have an underage girl on your lap?

What’s up with the “O” face?

Oh yeah, it’s all good because you’re her “boyfriend“…

This guy isn’t making fun of Asians…he has bigger plans. He’s only 1 roofie away from executing “Operating sMiley”…

6. An Asian guy! Miley obviously can’t be racist because she is hanging out with an Asian guy…or at least let him stay after delivering the take-out…or after he fixed their computers (BTW, where’s your Geek Squad outfit?)

Well, it looks like we have another celebrity hookup on our hands. Serena Williams, tennis superstar, and Common, rap artist/actor, have been seen on the town…and even hittin’ the waves together. I gotta say, this is one of the oddest couples I have seen…but then again, Serena was dating Brett Ratner before and THAT was weird.

But hey, if they have found love then let them have it!

Ready or not, here they come! The New Kids On the Block are making a comeback after a 14-year hiatus. The group will release a new album this summer and go on tour this fall. How big is this? YouTube is already buzzing with old videos featuring Jordan’s nut-clenching falsetto voice. I’m cringing just thinking about it.

BUT…

35-year olds across the country are taking boxes out of storage and dusting off their favorite NKOTB pins, t-shirts, and varsity jackets!

To put this into context for the youngbucks reading this, NKOTB was ‘N Sync before ‘N Sync, Backstreet before Backstreet, the Jonas Brothers before the Jonas Brothers.

Honestly, it should be a good move for the group members. Of course, the New Kids – Jordan Knight, Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg, Jonathan Knight, and Danny Wood – aren’t exactly “kids” anymore, either. The youngest of the bunch, McIntyre, is 35, and the oldest member, Jonathan Knight, is 39. But this tour will probably bring in some good revenue for the band, and should supplement the $50 that Jordan Knight received for appearing in “The Surreal Life.”

I wish them luck…and will now move aside to avoid the stampede of 35 year old teeny boppers.

I came across this story and read about the famous White House Easter Egg Rolls.

I was hoping for to see pictures of a presidential form of the very popular Chinese appetizer, but was only met with disappointment. Hey, at least there was a bright spot…getting to see W. kickin’ it with some Furries.

Slated for release on May 9, 2008, “Speed Racer” marks the Wachowski brothers’ first writing/directing collaboration since “The Matrix” movies. Joel Silver, who previously worked with the Wachowskis on “The Matrix” movies and “V For Vendetta,” is producing the film under his Silver Pictures banner.

The film stars Emile Hirsch (“Alpha Dog”) as Speed, Christina Ricci (“Black Snake Moan”) as Trixie, Matthew Fox (TV’s “Lost”) as Racer X, and Oscar winner Susan Sarandon (“Dead Man Walking”) and John Goodman (“Evan Almighty”) as Mom and Pops Racer.

Based on the classic series created by anime pioneer Tatsuo Yoshida, the live-action “Speed Racer” will showcase the kind of revolutionary visual effects and cutting-edge storytelling that have become the benchmarks of the Wachowski brothers’ films.

Based on the image of the Mach 5 alone, I have a feeling that Speed Racer is going to be a smash! Did you see the Mach 5? It is freakin’ awesome! I just hope it doesn’t look cheesy when the saws come out from the front of the car.

If Emile plays his cards right, he can leverage this film and go further into the genre. Who knows, this might become a franchise. But we won’t be able to make that prediction until we see the movie first. But if it hits like the Matrix, Emile will be in the same position as Keanu. But let’s just hope that he doesn’t make the same “great” film choices that Keanu did post-Matrix.

I tuned into catch Charlie Rose’s late night talk show last night, and I was very surprised at what I saw. Charlie Rose had a freakin’ black eye!

Now, I wasn’t sure how to interpret this. He was interviewing former Secretary of the Treasury, Lawrence Summers, so it would be fitting that he would a sport a black eye. Get it, black eye, bad economy?

Ok, bad joke, but you can’t put anything past Charlie Rose. He’s creative, hardworking, and innovative.

At the top of the show Rose explained that he’d taken a spill. But the influential tech blogger Mike Arrington — who was recently on the show — called up Rose’s producer to ask what really happened to the host.

Arrington reports that Rose tripped in a pothole walking down 59th St. in Manhattan.

The host, whom Arrington says is a gadget-hound, was carrying his new MacBook Air, and thus he had a big decision to make: Protect his face, or the beautiful machine? In the split-second before he kissed the pavement, Rose chose to save the computer.

“In doing so, he pretty much hit the pavement face first, unfortunately,” producers told Arrington.

Producers say the MacBook Air was undamaged, save for the blood stains.

Pop Fiction, an eight-episode series, is a prank show targeting paparazzi and gullible media outlets. It’s made with the eager help of stars, who were the laughing stocks of Kutcher’s former MTV show. This time the shoe’s on the other foot, and the series has been kept so tightly under wraps that E!’s own website fell victim to the Hilton hoax and other planted stories that producers won’t yet divulge.

The first episode had Paris Hilton go on a unique dinner date in L.A. Saturday: a gray-haired, orange-robed “shaman” who blessed her and urged her to give a diamond necklace to a total stranger.

Like most everything she does, the event was captured by dozens of cameras. News quickly spread to London tabloids, TMZ.com, the New York Daily News and websites of the Los Angeles Times and San Francisco Chronicle, who wondered if she’d found religion or was seeking spiritual guidance.

Is this celebrities answer to getting back at the Paparazzi and other media that follow their every move? We’ll find out.

When the cat is away, the mice will play…

These two longtime ‘friends’ met up for a meal and did a poor job of hiding from the cameras. Well, we all know that Mario Lopez is always looking for the lenses, so it was no surprise that the photogs caught up with him and Eva.

With the Spurs in full stride, Eva’s wife Tony Parker is fully focused on getting his team to the playoffs. While Tony is bustin’ his ass on the court, Eva is meeting up with her old friend Mario. And to top if off, Mario presented Eva with a Cartier necklace as an early birthday present. This won’t kill any of the rumors that Eva and Mario are ‘more than friends.’

Hey Tony, keep an eye out for this dude. We all know he has a problem with women…he freakin’ cheated on hot-ass Ali Landry on their honeymoon! Dude’s got a problem.

But there’s one good thing about the gift…least it wasn’t a pearl necklace.
